Also, the Tamil remake is a shorter version of the original and is quite effective in showcasing the mundane routine of a housewife. You see clogged drains, vegetable scraps on the dining table, and men who do not even pick up their used plates. As much as it gets monotonous to see her repeat the same activities for most of the film, it also emphasizes the situation she is forced into.
